Empower Youth: Be the Change You Want to See in your community
The director Vera Iona Papadopoulou watched the young participants’ journey towards empowerment in the framework of the “Empower YOUth” project. The project was implemented by SolidarityNow and the Norwegian organization NorSensus Mediaforum, in Athens and Thessaloniki. “Empower YOUth” was implemented within the framework of the Active citizens fund*.
The project’s aim was to empower youth from different vulnerable groups, such as the Roma, the refugees/asylum seekers/migrants, disabled youngsters, persons from the LGBTQI+ community or from disadvantaged/remote areas that live under the poverty line, to become leaders and actively bring a positive change within their communities.
